Week 2 NFL Survivor Pool Picks and Advice: Official Selections from Two Former Winners
Well that was a quick one for me, but thankfully my colleagues went 8-0 with their picks for Week 1. I took kind of a risky play for Week 1 and took the Pats on all four of my cards and was bounced from my pool before the first Sunday of the regular season. I think the earliest I had ever been eliminated before that was Week 5 or 6. Luckily I was able to rebuy since the most of the Week 1 games had not been played yet. I will still give my opinions in my weekly Opening Line Report and on Twitter @sppicks. I took Oakland on both cards this week. Remember, we always say it’s best to get as many opinions as possible for Survivor Pool picks. But in the end it is your contest and up to you to make the best pick you can for that week. We offer our services as more of a guideline.

Every Thursday we will post this article with each NFL Survivor Pool expert giving their four picks for the week. We all play multiple cards as that gives you the best chance to win the pool. Once a card suffers a loss there will be an “X” added. We expect several of these cards to reach all the way to Week 17.
Here are our Week 2 NFL Survivor Pool picks and advice for opening weekend:
Kyle McCarthy
Card 1: Pittsburgh, Oakland
Card 2: Pittsburgh, Oakland
Card 3: Atlanta, Seattle
Card 4: Seattle, Atlanta
Analysis: Pittsburgh and Atlanta gave us a scare in the final minutes of the 4th quarter with each team squandering leads. Both teams survived and came away with wins in Week 1.
In Week 2 we are playing against 2 more bottom feeding teams in the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers. After a poor performance against the Buffalo Bills, the Jets travel across country to the black hole and take on a very good Oakland Raiders team in their home opener. The Jets will leave Oakland 0-2. Out other card is filled with the Seattle Seahawks, who played well vs. the Green Bay Packers and may have won if not for a referee, who called back a pick-6 due to penalty. The Seahawks get to take out their frustrations on a limited 49ers team who could not move the ball at home last week vs. the Carolina Panthers.
