Free Westgate SuperContest Picks Week 17
The final week of the NFL brings and end to the 2016 Westgate SuperContest. We would not be to far off the lead with 45 points although would have admittedly crashed and burned in the SuperContest Mini Contest. The SuperContest Mini Contest is the most winners over the final 3 weeks of the regular season (weeks 15, 16 & 17). We rolled the dice a bit on a few selection but overall we are happy with our 56.26 win percentage and are extremely confident in Week 17 picks which can be one of the hardest weeks of the year.
Just because the Supercontest is ending it doesn’t mean Football is over!! Doc’s Sports is an industry veteran of 40+ years, with the best handicappers in the industry. Now onto our Week 17 Super Contest Selections using the current posted Westgate SuperContest spread:
Miami +9.5 over New England The Patriots still need a win or an Oakland loss for Home Field Advantage in the playoffs so we don’t expect the Patriots to rest any starters. The Patriots should have a conservative game plan as they just want to get a win and go home without showing too much on offense or defense for the upcoming playoff run. Miami has the type of defense that can bring pressure up the middle and be just enough to disrupt the timing of the Patriots passing game. Miami has also discovered the striong running game of Jay Ajayi since the 1st meeting this year. Patriots get the win but 9.5 points is too much to give to a hungry and confident Dolphins team.
Jacksonville +4.5 over Indianapolis New Jaguars coach Doug Marrone has lit a spark under the young Jaguars team who pulled a major upset over the Titans last week. The Jags defense has been getting better each week with its strength being in the secondary. The Colts have to be disappointed after being eliminated from playoff contention. Take the Jags who will be excited to play.
Tennessee +3.5 over Houston Both teams will be starting backup QB’s in this one as Houston will be giving Tom Savage, who looked overwhelmed at time another look before the playoffs. Meanwhile Houston will have veteran QB Matt Cassell starting for the injured Marcus Marriota. Houston will want to get out of this one injury free and will not put up a fight against a smash mouth Titans team who has to be a little disappointed they are missing out on a playoff run.
Chicago +5 over Minnesota Chicago has covered 6 over their last 8 games and have been playing hard for Coach John Fox. The Bears strength on defense is the front seven and that does not bode well for a Vikings team that has be unable to run the ball all year. Bears offense has been playing well even with the turnovers last week. Rumors of internal fighting are all over the Vikings who have collapsed after a 5-0 start. Bears could get a straight up win in this rivalry game.
New Orleans +6.5 over Atlanta The Saints offense has been red hot the last 2 weeks scoring 48 and 31 points against the Cardinals and Bucs. Atlanta has also put up big points in their last 3 games scoring 42 in LA, 41 against SF and 33 against Carolina. This game has over all over it but we will take close to a touchdown with the Saints offense who can match points with Atlanta.
