Week 9 NFL Survivor Pool Picks: Official Predictions from Former Winners
Well, not the best NFL Survivor Pool season for the folks that bring you SurvivorPoolPicks.com. Our experts were down to a single play last week for our official picks but Minnesota was upset on Monday Night Football and now all our experts are out. But we aren’t going to roll over and we will continue to provide both NFL Survivor Pool content and general sports betting predictions throughout the NFL season.
Doc’s Sports is a partner and we wanted to let you know about a huge pick they have going this weekend in college football. Their Big Ten Game of the Year is their strongest play of the season in any sport, and they once won this pick 19 years in a row and moved the Las Vegas line more than seven points when the pick was released! That game goes this week on Saturday, and you can get it for free by clicking this link. And you will have $30 left over to get another pick from any expert handicapper on their site (this offer gives you $60 worth of free picks)! They have been in business for more than 40 years and no credit card is required for this offer and you will never deal with a salesman.
Starting this week Kyle McCarthy and I will give one big favorite we like the most along with one under-the-radar team and one to avoid. This is so individuals that are in second-chance pools and the like can still get help to advance in their pools.
Here are our NFL Survivor Pool picks Week 9:
Jeremy Martin
Best Big Favorite
Kansas City vs. Jacksonville: This would be my top pick if I hadn’t already used the Chiefs. Remember, this team started slow and then notched 10 consecutive wins during the regular season last year (not including their first playoff win in 20+ years). They have the chance to have a similar finish this year. And Jacksonville is one of my biggest fade teams down the stretch. It looks like Alex Smith is out and Nick Foles is in at QB this week, and the line dropped a couple points as a result, but Foles played well last week and is one of the better backup QBs in the league.
Under-the-Radar Pick
Atlanta at Tampa Bay: The more I think about this, the more I like the Falcons in this spot. And some handicappers I respect like Atlanta here as well. If this game was on Sunday instead of Thursday I would like the Falcons even more. These Thursday games are tricky because of the short week of preparation. Tampa Bay has won three straight in this series. I think that trend will start to correct itself on Thursday as Atlanta is a much more complete team and they are confident coming off a win over Green Bay.
Stay Away
New Orleans at San Francisco: The Saints look good on offense and they play an exciting style that gets noticed. But I just don’t trust them to go into San Francisco and get the win. The Niners are pretty bad this year but they are well-coached, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Chip Kelly devised a game plan to give the Niners a chance to win a close, high-scoring game.
Kyle McCarthy
Best Big Favorite
Green Bay vs. Indianapolis: Green Bay put up a great effort last week and nearly pulled off the victory on the road while missing Clay Matthews on D and both Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery sitting due to injury and illness. With all those weapons back, look for Aaron Rodgers, who is starting to click, to have a huge day vs a weak Colts secondary.
Under-the-Radar Pick
Philadelphia at NY Giants: The Eagles have found enough of ground game with the ageless Darren Sproles, and the threat of a run is giving Rookie QB Carson Wentz enough time to find some receivers. Eagles had the Cowboys on the ropes last week, winning by 10 in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Giants run game is stuck in first gear, making the Giants one-dimensional on offense. Look for the Eagles to blitz early and often against Eli Manning.
Stay Away
San Diego vs. Tennessee: The Titans are a tough 8-8 team that drives other teams crazy. A ground-and-pound offense shortens the game, wears opposing teams out by the fourth quarter and keeps opposing team’s offenses off the field. Defensively the Titans are sound and don’t make too many mental mistakes. It would not surprise me to see the Titans get a win on the road vs. San Diego.
