For purposes of this article we will use the current posted Covers.com spread.
Denver PK Over Oakland
Oakland looked good beating up on Tampa Bay and Jacksonville the last 2 weeks but now will be taking on a much tougher Denver defense. Expect the Broncos to move the ball against a disappointing Raiders defense that does not generate much of a pass rush. The Broncos have won and covered 5 straight in Oakland.
New Orleans -3.5 over San Francisco
I can only imagine this line is so small because the 49ers are off a bye and the Saints are travelling. If this game is in New Orleans then the Saints would probably be 8-point favorites. The Saints have been playing well vs top opponents while the 49ers continue to struggle. Saints win comfortably.
Philadelphia +2.5 over New York Giants
The Giants have a non-existent run game, which plays right into the aggressive Philadelphia Eagles defenseive strengths. Expect Eli to be under pressure all day while the Eagles get just enough from Carson Wentz and Darren Sproles.
Carolina -3 over Los Angeles
The Panthers have not looked like the defending NFC Champs this season, but the real Carolina Panthers showed up last week in a beat down of the Arizona Cardinals. Underrated Jonathon Stewart gives the Panthers a much-needed boost to the run game and opens things up for Cam Newton. The Rams are off a bye, but the Panthers are still in must-win mode.
Pittsburgh +3 over Baltimore
Both teams are a little banged up in this one, with the Steelers possibly missing Big Ben while the Ravens are missing key pass rushers Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs. With no pass rush the Steelers will be able to move the ball with LeVeon Bell and Antonio Brown.
