2015 NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 6 with Expert Predictions
There are a few solid picks on the board this week and a few teams I think might be on upset alert. If you have made it to Week 6 in your original NFL Survivor Pool then you are probably very close to tasting victory. If you are in a second-chance pool then you still have a long season ahead of you. Regardless, there are a few very enticing picks on the board for Week 6 this week.
In this space I will list the four teams I like the most, in order of confidence, along with four to avoid.
2015 NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 6
Four to Follow
Green Bay vs. San Diego
Really this one is a no-brainer. The problem is that most Survivor Pool players have already used Green Bay. If you have not, however, enjoy a worry-free week this week! I just think this is one of the biggest mismatches of the season. That is further highlighted by the fact that San Diego has a short week after a devastating last-second loss on Monday Night Football. Now they have to regroup quickly and travel across the country to play arguably the best team in the NFL in the toughest building to play in. This isn’t going to go well for them. There is always the chance that Green Bay has an off game. But I doubt it.
Minnesota vs. Kansas City
The Chiefs looked like they gave up on their season in that Week 5 home loss to Chicago when Jamaal Charles went down for the season with a serious ankle injury. They were up big in that game and ended up losing in the final minute. A record of 1-4 is all but impossible to come back from. Andy Reid will probably come up with a plan to keep this team competitive, but I don’t think he has enough time for that plan to be executed this week. Minnesota comes of the bye and should be primed for revenge from their Super Bowl IV loss to KC. I am joking, of course, but I do see the Vikings winning this one pretty comfortably.
Seattle vs. Carolina
Even though the Panthers are 4-0 and the Seahawks are 2-3, this line makes it obvious who the better team is. I thought about taking Carolina plus the points early in the week, but as the week has gone on I have leaned more towards Seattle in this game. I just don’t think the Panthers are that good, and they have benefited from an easy schedule. Seattle should play desperate here and probably wins this one by 7+.
Honorable Mention: Philadelphia over New York Giants
Four to Avoid
Atlanta at New Orleans
This game tonight scares me for the visiting team. I think New Orleans is a live dog here. Even though they have not played well at home the last couple seasons, they do have a strong history here, and of course Drew Brees is still at QB and can win the game by himself anytime he goes nuts. Plus, I just don’t think Atlanta is as good as their record indicates. They have a pretty easy schedule and will probably rack up a lot of wins, but I think this game tonight will be pretty close; it would not surprise me if the home team pulled the upset. This is another game where I changed my mind during the week. I originally thought the Falcons might be a decent pick for Survivor Pools. Some sharp handicapper friends of mine like New Orleans a lot in this spot, and that helped me change my mind.
New England at Indianapolis
This is one of the biggest lines of the week (New England is favored by 10.5 at some sportsbooks), and the Patriots have dominated the Colts in recent times. I just have an uneasy feeling about this game. I think this is definitely an inflated line and have bet on the Colts myself. This is the biggest game on their schedule in the regular season and I could see them playing their best game of the year so far. This one is more of a gut feeling. Most Survivor Pool players have already used New England, so this is a moot point. I think this game will be closer than the oddsmakers do, but then again I have been waiting for the bottom to fall out on this New England team for a couple weeks, and it hasn’t happened yet.
Denver at Cleveland
The Browns are a strong bet for me this week plus the points. They are playing with a lot of fire and confidence right now, and I don’t think anyone would argue that the Broncos are one of the worst undefeated teams we have seen at this point of the season recently. They won two games without scoring a touchdown, for cripes sake! This one also has reverse line movement, meaning a large percentage of bettors are placing wagers on Denver yet the line is moving to make the Broncos more attractive to the betting public. That is a sign that very smart money has wagered on the Browns.
Honorable Mention: New York Jets vs. Washington
