NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 6: Early Look at Best Eliminator Options
In an ongoing series here at SurvivorPoolPicks.com, we will look ahead in the pro football season and offer some NFL Survivor Pool picks for Week 6. We have previously previewed Weeks 1 through 5. We will provide extensive coverage each week of the NFL season for that particular week, but with the early season so challenging this year it can’t hurt to map out what the first half of the season looks like.
You can check out some of our previous weekly previews here: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4 and Week 5. Check back each week of the NFL season for plenty of content that will help you win your pool.
I will go in chronological order down the list of games for Week 6 in the NFL and comment on any games that might be worthy of a Survivor Pool pick. Of course, things will change from now until then, and we will have more updated information once Week 6 rolls around in October. Week 6 promises to be a very tough week for Survivor Pool players. Parity is alive and well in the NFL!
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 6
New Orleans vs. Atlanta: The Saints are normally dominant at home. And Atlanta was only 6-10 last season. However, the Saints were only 3-5 at home last year and were swept by the Falcons, who were a surprising 5-1 vs. the NFC South. Many prognosticators expect the Falcons to be a lot better this year, and New Orleans should be better, at least at home. This is probably a game I will stay away from unless there are major injuries for the Falcons.
Denver at Cleveland: There is a good chance that many Survivor Pool players would have used the Broncos by this point. Heck, I am seriously considering them Week 1 vs. Baltimore. However, I play multiple tickets in each contest, so if I have the Broncos available I would seriously consider them here. I normally try and stay away from road teams, but the Browns should be bad this season, and even their stout defense probably won’t be able to slow down Peyton Manning.
Houston at Jacksonville: That two road teams are already listed here for Week 6 Survivor Pool picks just goes to show you how few options there are for this week. Jacksonville has been a popular fade team for the last few years, but I think they have a chance to get to 6 or 7 wins this season, while the Texans probably have a ceiling of 9 or 10. If Jacksonville looks really bad then the Texans might be an option here, but I am not too excited on taking this team on the road as this should be a poor offensive club.
Miami at Tennessee: Another road team here. I am starting to like the Dolphins more and more since I have been researching them, and I think the Titans will be a very bad team. Miami should be able to get the road win here. In normal weeks I would probably stay away from this game, but this one looks like it may get some consideration once Week 6 rolls around. I will take a wait-and-see approach on this one.
Seattle vs. Carolina: The Seahawks scare me this season. They scared me last season, too, and I tried to avoid using them for as long as possible. They played better than I expected last season and avoided the normal Super Bowl hangover that has plagued so many teams over the years. But I just can’t help the feeling that this team is going to regress this season. Regardless, this one should be a low-scoring defensive contest and will probably come down to the fourth quarter to determine the winner. I will probably stay away although this will likely be a popular pick for those that haven’t yet used Seattle.
Green Bay vs. San Diego: This looks like my top pick for the week. San Diego is a fringe playoff team in my opinion, and the Packers are arguably the best team in the NFC. They should take care of business here. The problem here is that Green Bay looks like the most popular pick for Week 1 (at Chicago), and most Survivor Pool players will not have them at their disposal.
Philadelphia vs. New York (Monday Night Football): I normally don’t like to pick Monday Night Football games in my Survivor Pool. There is a lot of uncertainty in between the time you submit your pick (normally Friday or Saturday) until game time. I think New York will be better this season, but they should be no match for Philly here at home. This will be a popular Survivor Pool pick for Week 6 this season, but because of the rivalry factor and the MNF factor I may try to look elsewhere for my winner.
