NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 5: Expert Ranked Predictions with no Point Spread
It’s been a couple crazy weeks in the NFL and it’s tougher than ever to succeed in Confidence and Survivor Pools because of the parity in the league. To think that there is only one undefeated team heading into Week 5 is bizarre. We have picked more upsets than normal this season because we have been ahead of the curve on some of these teams even though it has been slow going for a big week thus far. Let’s hope that this is the week!

This is a tough week for Survivor and Confidence Pools. There are only a couple big favorites on the board and many really short spreads. Myself, I am feeling extremely confident this week. I love my picks for Week 5.

6 Dallas over Green Bay
7 Houston over Kansas City
8 Minnesota over Chicago
9 LA Rams over Seattle

Analysis: I mentioned in my Week 5 Survivor Opening Line Report that my top 3 plays for Survivor were Oakland (who I have already used), Philly and Pittsburgh. Well, I just realized that I have already used the Eagles, too, so pretty much I am pigeonholed into using the Steelers this week, even though as you can see here they are my No. 3 choice for the week as I think the Jags are more of a dangerous opponent than the Ravens or Cardinals. Not a lot of big lines this week so not a lot of big upsets, although I do think Tampa Bay has a chance to upset the Patriots tonight (something is clearly wrong with this team this season) and also I have the Chargers upsetting the Giants as I think they have a bit more upside overall and New York seems like a team that will implode since they are out of the playoff hunt already in Week 5.

Analysis: Another tough week in the NFL with 6 out of 8 favorites losing straight up. Week 5 is the first of the Bye weeks so things are not going to get any easier. Our top pick this week is Pittsburgh over Jacksonville. Jacksonville is proving they are not ready for prime time just yet and the Steelers are a different team out home. Expect lots of LeVeon Bell in this one. Our No. 2 pick is the Philadelphia Eagles over the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are a one-dimensional passing team and the Eagles strength on defense is their pass rush. Carson Palmer is looking older and older every game and may not make it out of this one.
