Be careful when picking upsets for your NFL Confidence Pool. Yes, upsets happen every week. But it’s best to play these conservatively and use favorites as your highest-rated picks unless you are very confident in an upset. As you can see below, I picked some upsets this week but most of them are rated pretty low. You don’t want to go upset crazy and then have it be a very chalk week. If that happens then you can be way behind in your pool in a really short time.

NFL Confidence Pool picks Week 8 from Expert Pro Football Handicappers

   6. Carolina over Arizona
   7. Kansas City over Indianapolis
   8. Tampa Bay over Oakland
   9. Houston over Detroit
   10. Jacksonville over Tennessee
   11. San Diego over Denver
   12. Cleveland over New York Jets
   13. Green Bay over Atlanta

Analysis: New England is once again my top pick. If I hadn’t already used them in my NFL Survivor Pool I would definitely choose them this week. My NFL Survivor Pool pick Week 8 is on Minnesota, and I ranked them second on Monday Night Football over the hapless Bears. I do like some upsets this week but ranked them lower down the list. This is one of the best chances for Cleveland to score a win this week as they host the Jets. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the worst QB in the league this year and the Browns have a chance. I also like the Chargers to sweep the Broncos as they are playing very well right now. I also think Jacksonville has a very good chance for the upset on Thursday.

Analysis: Barring injury New England may not lose another game, and they definitely want to hand it to the Bills, who gave the Patriots their only loss this season. New England should win in blow out fashion. It is not a huge upset pick, but I am picking the Packers to get a win in Atlanta. Atlanta struggled vs. the quick passing game of the Chargers last week and now they have to take on the Packers, who dinked and dunked all over the Chicago Bears last Thursday.
