Week 6 NFL Survivor Pool Picks and Advice: Official Predictions from Three Former Winners
Last week I stated that there was no such thing as a “lock” in sports but that New England over Cleveland was the closest thing to one, and they had no trouble of dispatching of the horrible Browns in Cleveland. Most NFL Survivor Pool players advanced last week because there was a real lack of upsets. But as things normally equal out that means that this week is likely to knock some folks out, and the Week 6 schedule looks pretty daunting for NFL Survivor Pool players.

Analysis: We took a bad beat in Week 5 on our Card 4 with a Carolina Panthers loss. Even with 4 turnovers, the Panthers had a chance to win but didn’t come through. This is an important reminder to have multiple cards in your Survivor Pools.
In Week 6 our top selection is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers offense is functioning on all cylinders since the return of Le’Veon Bell. The strong run game has opened things up for the passing game. Big Ben has been connecting with break-out WR Sammie Coates. Meanwhile Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has been asked to carry the load for the offense and has not been living up to the challenge. The Steelers should have no problem with the Dolphins on the road.
We are also siding with the Buffalo Bills in the LeSean McCoy/Chip Kelly Feud. The 49ers were already having problems on defense and lost defensive Novarro Bowman to the IR. The 49ers are 31st in rushing defense in the NFL, and only the Miami Dolphins (see our Steelers selection) rank lower in team rushing defense. Colin Kaepernick does add a dimension to the 49ers offense but is an inaccurate QB. Expect the Bills secondary to create at least one turnover. Bills get the win at home.

Analysis: I went back and forth on this pick all week and was originally going to pick Buffalo, but I just don’t trust the Bills. Every time they go on a winning streak and look great then face a bad team like this they always seem to fall flat on their face. I used Kansas City already but I kind of like the Chiefs this week because I think they are a better team than the Raiders and Andy Reid is amazing out of the bye (15-2 in his career). I just don’t see them going 2-3. But since I can’t use them I think Pittsburgh is the nest best choice. The Dolphins look like one of the worst teams in the NFL and the Steelers won’t take this game for granted after their blowout loss to Philly a couple weeks ago. I am a bit concerned that they may be looking ahead to New England next week. But I think they are the best pick on the board this week along with Kansas City.
