Free NFL Week 9 & Week 10 NCAA Betting Picks from Expert Football Handicapper

We had a successful Week 9 of NCAA College Football with our first 2-Unit plays of the year. Marshall -17 easily defeated Charlotte 34-10, USC -5.5 handled Cal 27-21 in a game that was not as close as the score, and NC State +10 fell short of getting us a cover against top-ranked Clemson, losing 56-41 giving us a 2-1 weekend in College Football.

We stuck with 1-Unit plays for Week 8 of the NFL and also went 2-1. We thought we had a winner with Chicago +1 over Minnesota, but they fell 23-20 on a game-ending field goal as time expired. St Louis -8 made it look easy in defeating the 49ers 27-6, and Dallas +5.5 nearly pulled off the upset, losing to Seattle 13-12.

Pittsburgh is going in the right direction under Head Coach Pat Narduzzi, but the Fighting Irish are just too talented. Irish Coach Brian Kelly has shown off his recruiting skills with injured starters going down and new playmakers stepping in. The Irish will be too much for the Panthers in this one.

You don’t see the No. 2 team in the country as a 6.5-point dog too often, so that should tell you something. LSU wants to pound the rock with future NFL star Leonard Fournette. And while there may be plays he finds some daylight, running the ball against Alabama is generally not a formula for success. This reminds of the Alabama’s Week 5 matchup against Georgia. “Roll Tide Roll” Alabama wins comfortably.

Both these teams want to run the ball, making for a large margin of victory unlikely.   Indiana has an underrated offense that is getting healthy. Michigan State Linebacker Jon Reschke had high praise after MSU’s 52-26 win saying the Hoosiers offense is better than Oregon’s. Indiana keeps it close and might even surprise us with a straight up win.

Normally I would not recommend giving 14 points to a team coming off a bye week, but the Patriots love to beat other NFL teams. Expect Brady to pick apart a fragile Redskins secondary and put up points at will. Redskins do not have the firepower to keep up. Patriots stay undefeated and win big.

The 49ers have finally thrown in the towel and are now starting Blaine Gabbert at QB and signed Pierre Thomas to play Running Back. I don’t expect much off from the 49ers against a motivated Falcons team.

As soon as Pittsburgh got Big Ben back they lost star RB Le’Veon Bell. The Steelers secondary is a big question mark against Oakland QB David Carr, who is on fire and gelling with rookie sensation Amari Cooper and veteran WR Michael Crabtree, who is having a career year.
