Free NFL Week 5 & Week 6 NCAA Betting Picks from Expert Football Handicapper
We had a great Week 5 of NCAA college football, going 3-0 starting on Thursday night with Cincinnati +6.5 defeating overmatched Miami 34-23. Another outright winner was UNLV winning the Fremont Cannon over rival Nevada, 23-17. We were fortunate to play Clemson early and get +1 as this line moved by Saturday going off at Clemson -2. We got the win and many got a fortunate push in a Clemson 24-22 victory over Notre Dame. Notre Dame showed us something there, so we will keep an eye on them.
We went 1-2 in Week 4 of the NFL against the Bovada Sportsbook. We had the Arizona Cardinals -7.5, but the Cardinals had three turnovers and couldn’t convert long drives into touchdowns, losing to St Louis Rams 24-22. The San Diego Chargers looked like they were going to cover, going up 27-19 with just over seven minutes left in the fourth, but the Browns had other plans and almost forced OT. The Chargers snuck out a win but failed to cover the -7.5, 30-27. Our lone winner was the Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 easily defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, 36-21.
Now onto this week’s free picks. Like always, we will pick our lines using the popular Bovada sportsbook. Bovada is very trusted in the industry and has very fast payouts. Check out Bovada and sign up (Click Here).
For any new players, you will see we talk in Units. Essentially a Unit equals $100. We do know that there are plenty of bettors who are not $100 players, so break this down to fit your comfort level. For example, a Unit to you could be $10. So if we discuss a 2-Unit play that would indicate a $20 play.

Pick No. 1
1-Unit Straight Bet
Take Houston -25.5 over SMU – Bovada Line and sign up (Click Here)
We have had a lot of success on the Thursday Night Games as they disrupt the normalcy of the college athlete and tend to favor the home team. This week we like the high-powered Houston Cougars. SMU is improved on the offensive side of the ball but does not have the defense, allowing over 40+ points in each of their losses, to slow Houston. Take the home Thursday night team in Houston.
Pick No. 2
1-Unit Straight Bet
Take Boise St -16. over Colorado St – Bovada Line and sign up (Click Here)
The veteran Boise State defense combined with Brett Rypien, the son of a Super Bowl Champion QB Mark Rypien, has the Broncos firing on all cylinders, while Colorado State can’t seem to find consistent success on either side of the ball. Even on the road, expect Boise to roll in this one.
Pick No. 3
1-Unit Straight Bet
Take TCU -9.5 over Kansas St – Bovada Line and sign up (Click Here)
Nobody gets their team up to play the power teams like Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder, but the Wildcats don’t have the firepower this time around, especially with a backup QB. TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson has eyes on the National Championship Playoff and does not take the foot off the gas here. Lay the -9.5 at Bovada.

Take New England – 9 over Dallas Bovada Line and sign up (Click Here)
New England comes off a bye week ready to take on the injury-riddled Cowboys. The Cowboys do get back some defensive line help, but it will not be enough to stay close with New England. This could get ugly. Pats roll.
Pick No. 2
1-Unit Straight Bet
Take Cincinnati -3 over Seattle – Bovada Line and sign up (Click Here)
I am buying the Bengals. Cincinnati is 4-0 on the year and against the spread. They get the offensively-struggling defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks on a short week and who barely survived at home vs. the Detroit Lions. The Seahawks are struggling running the ball and in pass protection, while the Bengals have a deep rotating defense and playmakers at the skill positions. I know trusting Andy Dalton vs. the Seahawks secondary is a dangerous game to play, but the Bengals are the real deal.
Pick No. 3
1-Unit Straight Bet
Green Bay -9 over St Louis – Bovada Line and sign up (Click Here)
The Rams benefited from three Arizona Cardinals turnovers, one on the opening kickoff, and hung on to win. Aaron Rodgers has enough mobility to avoid the Rams pass rush and hit his receivers. Todd Gurley looks like a nice RB for the Rams, but I am taking the Packers, who are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games, against Rams QB Nick Foles.
